President's Message

I am profoundly honored to be serving as your SMPS Utah president. SMPS — and the amazing network of talented people I’ve met through the Utah chapter — have had such a positive impact on my career. I can’t wait to give back to the organization and people that have done so much for me!

I want to recognize and thank Stephanie Ray for her leadership. She did an amazing job leading our chapter through a very challenging year. Throughout her entire presidency, Stephanie’s main focus was providing more benefits to our members. This year, we are as committed as ever to delivering even more benefits to you. I’m pleased to announce that one of those benefits is now available — we are giving away seven scholarships to Build Business! Fill out the scholarship application here if you’re interested.

I’m thrilled that many of our board members decided to continue their service to the chapter. This will help us keep strong momentum, providing value to our membership as we navigate the impacts of COVID-19. I’m so grateful for our board members and their willingness to serve. I know that they care immensely about our industry, our chapter and you. We are in very capable hands — and I’m confident that this will be a year to remember!

Thanks to each of you for your survey responses and participation in our first ever SMPS Utah Town Hall event on September 1. Our board members are hard at work incorporating your feedback into event plans for the year. We commit to delivering relevant and valuable resources for you as we navigate these unprecedented times together. We plan to hold another town hall in 2021, and in the meantime, I’d love to hear more of your thoughts and opinions. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any comments on how we can best address your needs and provide more value to our members.

To say that 2020 has been a unique year is an understatement! While we can’t predict the future with certainty, we are doing our best to plan for multiple scenarios with the safety of our members top-of-mind. We know that networking is huge benefit of SMPS, so we are exploring new and creative ways to connect. We want to ensure that everyone feels engaged, involved and empowered!

We have many opportunities for growth and change ahead of us. I’m looking forward to learning and evolving together! Thanks to each of you for being a valuable part of our SMPS community!
