Workshop overview

When you have constant proposals, presentations, and other critical tasks piled up on your desk, it can be hard to add content marketing to the mix. It’s not because content marketing isn’t critical. It’s because content marketing isn’t an immediate need. Let’s face it: a white paper for the website usually doesn’t stand in the way of a multi-million dollar RFP.

By adding content marketing as a long-term initiative, you have the power to shift client perspectives, showcase thought leadership, increase validity, and generate sales-qualified leads. If your A/E/C firm is looking to diversify clientele and expand your message past networking events, golf tournaments, and current collateral and communications, it’s time to level up your content marketing strategy.

In this three series virtual workshop, we’ll take a real-world approach to mastering content marketing while you manage the expected and unexpected tasks that land on your daily to-do list.

Module 1- The Guide to Content Development: How To Create and Repurpose Content That Doesn’t Suck

Wednesday, June 5, 2019
12:00 – 1:30 PM

There’s content all around you. You just have to find it—and then develop, polish, and repurpose it. In this session, we’ll discuss best practices on how to create client-focused content that educates your readers while establishing thought leadership. There’s enough sucky content in our industries, so let’s clean it up.

During this 90-minute module, participants will:

  • Establish methods of finding content while juggling other tasks
  • Identify five ways to repurpose old content to save time
  • Explore how to design and layout content readers can effectively scan
  • Learn to create content that resonates with your audience

Registration is separate for Modules 2 and 3. Live links for registration are provided below.

In the A/E/C industries, firms are concerned about being too annoying to their clients. How do they avoid it? By doing absolutely nothing! In this session, we’ll discuss how to promote client-focused content that feels like assistance rather than a nuisance. Social media, email campaigns, and content frequency will be the focus of this session.

During this 90-minute module, participants will:

  • Learn how to create a content calendar that aligns with your availability and user behavior
  • Gain tips on how to optimize social media to promote thought leadership
  • Learn how to develop email campaigns that promote content, projects, and people
  • Explore promotional best practices

Module 3- The Guide to Identity Collection and Analysis: How to Generate Leads and Prove You Aren't Wasting Your Time

Friday, June 21, 2019
12:00 - 1:30 PM
Click here to register for Module 3

It can be difficult to prove the impact and results of a content marketing plan (especially with as many touches required over the A/E/C lead cycle). That’s why our instructor will walk you through exactly how she made a case for content marketing that generated new business, more time, and a new marketing position within her former design-build firm.

During this 90-minute module, participants will:

  • Explore how to review case studies and data to gain internal leadership buy-in
  • Learn how to develop a (reasonable) content marketing budget
  • Learn how to collect data from social media and website analytics that track results and influence strategy
  • Identify methods to document marketing wins through analytics
