How long have you worked at your company?
2 years.

How would you describe your role/job?
Coach the Business Development and Marketing for the SLC office, facilitate regular BD meetings, lead proposal pursuits, connect with great clients, facilitate office committees, and anything else I can do to bring in work and keep our doer-sellers motivated.

What are the rewards of your job?
Working with great people in a company that I am proud to be a part of.

What are your challenges?
Currently, not enough face-to-face time.

What has been your most meaningful project?
Developing, facilitating, and campaigning a past firm’s first strategic plan.

How long have you been an SMPS member?
7 years.

What is your role in SMPS?
I have served on the board as a committee member for programs and education, Programs Director, President-Elect, and President.

How has SMPS membership helped you?
SMPS is hands down the best organization I have been a part of in my 21+ years in the AEC industry. I always say when I first moved to SLC seven years ago I felt a bit overwhelmed until I joined SMPS. I have made lasting friendships and gained so much from the programs, education events, networking, and learning from great people. Without SMPS I would not be where I am today.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Don’t be afraid to speak up and share your ideas. And always think outside the box.

What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Be yourself. You can do anything you set your mind to. Prove your worth daily by going the extra mile.

What has contributed to your success?
Not being afraid to do/try anything, even when I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it.

What’s on your bucket list?
Retirement, traveling the US with my husband, and Italy with my girls.

What was your childhood dream?
To be a professional ice skater.

Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
Retail therapy (in real stores). Amazon is great but call me old fashioned, I like the physical experience.
