Programs

Programs Committee members organize the Chapter’s monthly luncheon program. The luncheon program typically focuses on industry-specific topics involving prominent industry leaders, public officials, media figures, etc. surrounding potential project opportunities and trends. Committee members help determine program topics and secure speakers, for the entire organization.

Communications
The Communications Committee manages internal and external communication of the Utah Chapter. The committee is primarily responsible for the design and maintenance of the chapter web site. Other duties include publicizing activities of chapter committees through the SMPS Utah web site, printed flyers and e-mail.

Membership

Members of the Membership Committee play a key role in actively promoting membership in SMPS. In addition to maintaining an accurate listing of Chapter members, the committee is responsible for researching current membership opportunities and investigating member retention. Other activities include coordinating and implementing the yearly membership drive, driving the mentor program and publishing and distributing the membership directory.

Education

The Education Committee provides market-focused educational programs to members and non-members, marketers and technical staff in the built environment. After soliciting a survey to the membership, Education Committee members focus each of their four educational programs around the six Domains of Practice.

Public Relations

The Public Relations committee promotes awareness of the SMPS Utah Chapter. The committee orchestrates the annual Marketing Communications and Marketer of the Year Awards programs. Other responsibilities include serving as a Chapter liaison with other industry organizations, promoting events, publishing press releases, etc.

Special Events

Special Events is responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating our Chapter’s most anticipated events: our annual Golf Tournament, Holiday Social and Ski Day.

Sponsorship

Committee members solicit sponsorship for our organization through opportunities with our monthly and educational programs, special events and Gold Level Sponsors. Committee members also coordinate with the Program and Education committees and act as a liaison to sponsors during events.

Facilities

The pre-planning necessary for our monthly luncheon programs, special events and socials is the responsibility of the Facilities Committee. Handling attendee registrations, coordinating with hotel staff and negotiating facility and food service contracts are just a few of the activities the Facilities Committee manages that make our events run smoothly.
